Woodloch Pines Resort

This February, my family was able to experience a winter weekend at Woodloch Resort in Hawley, PA. From the moment we arrived, it was clear that Woodloch is more than just a place to stay—it’s a hub for fostering connections and creating memories.

With over 30 activities available daily for kids of all ages, and nightly family-friendly entertainment, Woodloch ensures there’s something for every member of your group or family.

With our stay came a meal plan that brought us to the center of Woodloch in their Main Dining Room—a place where we shared meals and stories with other guests, formed connections with staff, and found that Woodloch was more than just a destination. I’ll touch on this more later on as it was such an important part of our experience. In just a few days, faces around the resort became familiar and relationships started to form.

Woodloch’s commitment to family-friendly hospitality goes beyond activities and amenities—it’s reflected in the genuine kindness shown by every staff member, especially towards our children. It makes your stay less transactional with a focus on their welcoming atmosphere.

Continue reading as I detail our unforgettable weekend at Woodloch Resort. From room accommodations and activities to meal plans and nightly entertainment, I will review it all.

Room Accommodations

During our stay at Woodloch, we were booked into an Edgewater Suite within the Springbrook building. It turned out to be a great choice for our family’s size and needs. One of the conveniences of booking this suite is the option to select either a 2 or 3 meal plan, and we opted for the latter, a decision I’ll get into later in this post.

The Edgewater Suites had a spacious layout for two adults and four small children. In the one-bedroom suite, we had two queen beds in the bedroom and a queen pullout couch in the living room. We also requested a rollaway crib for our baby, which fit comfortably in the attached living room. Additionally, each suite comes with a private balcony that offers views of the lake and two full bathrooms.

The Springbrook building has gives guests indoor access to the Indoor Pool and Splash Zone which made water activities easily accessible from our room. There is also an Outdoor Pool Complex that is open in the summer.

The suite also had a lot of storage space available. With two closets for our use—one of which was a generously sized walk-in closet—we had no trouble organizing our belongings. I always like to unpack our clothes and get things set up to make transitions with four kids smoother, even if we are only staying somewhere for a couple of nights. The closet space gave me enough room to comfortably unpack and find dressing areas for each member of our family, getting us out the door faster.

The suite’s proximity to the Main Lodge, Dining Room, and Gigi’s Coffee House was incredibly convenient. It only took a few minutes for us to get to the dining room and from there, we were able to get to: the Snow Tubing Hill (seasonal), Woodloch’s two escape rooms, Harry’s Scoops (seasonal), the Front Lawn, Fire Pit, North Lodge and Cafe, Game Room, Bumper Cars, Nightclub, Woodloch Forest Indoor Playground, Gymnasium, Shuffle Board, Bocce Ball, and The Keystone Room.

If you are visiting over the summer, you will also be close to Volleyball, the Outdoor Playground (open year round), Miniature Golf, and Water Activities on the Lake.

Dining Experience

Our dining experience was one of our most memorable experiences at Woodloch. Families gather to connect, slow down, and enjoy each other’s company. The dining experience isn’t just about food; it’s about setting the tone for the day, unwinding together, and building connections within the Woodloch community.

Seating arrangements are unique at Woodloch. Guests sit at the same table throughout their stay, fostering familiarity. Conversations flow with surrounding guests, friendships form, and shared experiences become part of your Woodloch story.

Food options are also very diverse. Lunch and dinner menus change daily, offering a variety of options to suit specific dietary need and even the pickiest of eaters. Breakfast will remain consistent, providing a wide range of hot breakfast items, fresh fruit, cereal, and baked goods made fresh at their on-site bakery.

The serving staff at Woodloch is so genuinely kind and warm towards guests. Their hospitality and attentiveness create a memorable dining experience, from their interactions with our family to recommending dishes and accommodating requests.

Resort Activities

Kid’s Club

Woodloch has a Kid’s Club that offers programs and games for kids 10 and under. They will separate kids into two age groups: Scouts (7-10) and Cubs (6 and under). You will find the appropriate activity for your children by the Scout and Cub symbols next to each activity on your daily Activity Sheet.

The Kids Club offers an array of amenities to keep children entertained and engaged throughout their stay. These include Woodloch Forest Indoor Playground, Bumper Cars and Junior Go Carts, Splash Pools, Snow Tubing, and the Petting Zoo & Pony Rides. Indoors, the Kid’s Club Room and Arts & Crafts Room offer creative spaces for various activities and projects.

We took advantage of as many Kid’s Club activities as we could, but our highlights were the Forest Playground, Bumper Cars (and Miniature Bumper Cars), Snow Tubing, the Splash Pool, and Pony Rides.

Throughout the day, you will notice various contests listed on the activity sheet that offer guests a chance to win medals. Individual contests are divided by age to ensure fairness, with additional contests tailored for the 6 and under age group.

We participated in the Photo Scavenger Hunt around the resort and the kids also had time to enter the Goofy Sports Games, both offered medals.

For the Photo Scavenger Hunt, The Kid’s Club gave out a sheet of staff posed in 12 places around the Main Lodge and your job was to find each location and take the same posed photo. If you found them all, your family won a medal.

The Goofy Sports Games was held in the Kid’s Club and was for Cubs. Staff took down each child’s name and divided kids into 2 age groups: 3-6 and 2 and under. Kids had to pick a unique object to hit various size balls into a soccer net and their scores were tallied at the end. Crew was in the 2 and under group and won a silver medal.

Resort Amenities

Resort amenities are available during specific time slots throughout your stay. Some will only be offered seasonally but most of them are included in your Woodloch vacation package.

Guests can enjoy a variety of activities, including the Adventure Playground, Archery, an Arts and Crafts Room, Bocce Ball, Shuffleboard, Indoor Pool, Ice Skating, Escape Rooms, all activities listed under the Kid’s Club, and a Climbing Wall. During the summer, additional attractions such as Bumper Boats, Water Skiing, Waterslides, Beach Access, Boat Tours, and more are offered for guests’ enjoyment.

We did check out the Indoor Pool and Splash Zone since it was located in the same building as our room. They have towels and life vests for guests to use and the Splash Zone was the perfect size for our kids.

We spent time playing Shuffleboard since it was located near the Woodloch Fire Pit, where we could roast marshmallows in the evening. This was also across from the Bumper Cars and Miniature Cars which we took advantage of multiple times. We also checked out the Arts and Crafts Room since it is conveniently located near the Snow Tubing Hill. The Arts and Crafts Room is fully stocked with creative supplies and the kids had a really great time doing an activity that felt familiar before their first run on the Snow Tubing Hill.

The Snow Tubing Hill did get really busy. We had every intention of getting there when it opened, but plans change and when we travel with kids, we often follow their lead (especially at a resort that caters to family-friendly activities). If you want to avoid a line, I would suggest going when they open or after the lunch rush.

Entertainment

Your Woodloch package also includes daily entertainment. These shows will be highlighted on your daily activity sheet you receive at breakfast (or available on the Woodloch app).

Woodloch offers a variety of family-friendly entertainment that includes: Theme Shows, Children’s Entertainment, Comedians, Magic Shows, and Live Music.

I was able to attend the Saturday night Theme Show, “The Southern Route to American Music” during our stay, and as a former music teacher I appreciated this Broadway form of entertainment so much. The room was packed with guests, some of them loyal Woodloch guests who never miss attending a Saturday show. The show was appropriate for the entire family but it does start around 8:00 so if your children are younger, like mine, it may be too late. We decided my husband would take our kids back to get settled for bed while I enjoyed the show (which is incredible).

Our weekend at Woodloch Resort was truly amazing. From the number of activities for the whole family to enjoy, our unique dining experience, and extensive resort amenities, Woodloch blew us away. It’s more than just a place to stay—it’s where families come together, make memories, and have a genuinely great time. The staff’s warmth and the variety of fun things to do made our stay unforgettable. As we look back on our time at Woodloch, we’re filled with gratitude for the incredible memories we made.
