This January my family and I booked a weekend at the Showboat Hotel in Atlantic City, NJ to visit the Island Waterpark and even though we have four kids at different heights and ages, there was something for everyone during our visit!
The Island Waterpark has 12 water slides to choose from, which is great for any adult but also for most kids. They also have multiple splash pad areas, FlowRider, a lazy river, an adult pool, and a boardwalk lined with eateries.
Each of our kids found something they loved to do and we ended up staying in the waterpark from open to close.
Here is a breakdown of what each of our kids was able to do in the waterpark:
Chase (4 years old, 42″)
Most slides (some with a grown-up)
FlowRider
Lazy River
Splash Pads
Chloe (3 years old, 36″)
Kids Cove Slide
Lazy River
Splash Pads
Both Chase and Chloe decided to spend majority of the day at the Kid’s Cove slide. It is an approachable double slide for young children and there is a splash pad and mini bucket dump surrounding the slides.
Crew (2 years old, under 36″)
Lazy River
Splash Pads
Not being tall enough for the slides didn’t seem to bother Crew. There were so many splash pads for him to choose from.
Chip (newborn)
Splash Pads
We kept Chip in a waterproof chest carrier when we were walking around the waterpark. The carrier we used is Aquaroo and I have it linked here. It is made from the same material as wetsuits and kept Chip comfortable if wet and didn’t rub against my skin when wearing it. Use code JILL15 to save on your own carrier!
We also brought our Joovy Zoom X2 which I have linked here. This was perfect for Chip and Crew to nap in when we were in the cabana. Since we stayed open to close, we knew we would need to have a napping station for the kids.
The biggest lifesaver for us was the cabana. Island Waterpark has cabanas placed throughout the waterpark for guests to rent. You can rent your cabana through their website and if you have little ones, it is worth it, especially if you are only visiting for the day.
Our cabana sat in front of the larger splash pad area where most of the slides were also located. We could safely keep an eye on our older children playing in this area while I fed Chip or monitored Crew during his naps. Chloe was also able to squeeze in a nap on the lounge sofa that is inside the cabana.
You will also receive complimentary towels and soft drinks with your cabana and have access to a designated waiter or waitress that will take food orders for you if you would rather not go to their indoor boardwalk for food.
Insider Tip: Bring your own towels! If you do not have a cabana, you will not be given any towels to use during your visit.
We felt very safe bringing our young children to the waterpark. The waterpark provides life vests if you do not have one and they have two large life vest stations for you to choose from. They come in multiple sizes and styles to fit your needs. You are also free to bring your own.
They also have lifeguards stationed everywhere throughout the park. They rotate frequently to keep a safer eye on the guests, are at the top of every slide, and do rounds throughout the lazy river to ensure safety. We were also very surprised with the consistency in safety. Each lifeguard was consistent in how they monitored the slides and lazy river areas.
When you visit the waterpark you will notice how extremely clean the facilities are. The sanitation crew did an amazing job keeping thee areas clean for guests and at no point was there a trash can that looked filled despite the large crowds coming in and out of the park that day.
If you want to visit the waterpark, you can purchase day passes here. If you use my discount code JILL25 you will get $25 off of your ticket. There are no limits to this code and you may check out as many times as necessary to get all of the tickets you will need.
If you are visiting with little ones, children 3 and under are FREE, saving you even more on this experience that still offers so much for that age group!
Insider Tip: Day passes come with FREE parking, making it the perfect day trip for anyone close enough to make the drive. It also gives you time to checkout the Showboat Hotel and Lucky Snake Arcade, which I detail in another post.
