Weekdays can be a whirlwind, especially when you have a busy household with school and work schedules to juggle. But on the weekends, I love to treat my kids to something special, and one of our favorite traditions is a big, seasonal breakfast. I call it a “big breakfast”, but simplicity is still key. To make it easier, I often prep in advance, making waffles and pancakes ahead of time, or even using store-bought frozen breakfast items.
This Halloween season, I decided to up our breakfast game with two fun and festive breakfast boards that the kids absolutely loved. They were perfect for getting into the spooky spirit of the season.
1. Hocus Pocus Board
For the Hocus Pocus Board, I wanted to keep it really simple. I used Eggo Waffles as the base, which saved me time and effort. After that I only had to cook up some bacon and add the fruit that was already washed and ready.
Here’s what you’ll need:
- Eggo Waffles
- Bacon
- Assorted fruits (I used a variety of berries and sliced bananas)
2. Pumpkin and Spiderweb Board
The Pumpkin and Spiderweb Board took a bit longer to assemble because I made the pancakes fresh that morning, but I made sure to whip up extra and freeze them for future breakfasts.
For this spooktacular board, you’ll need:
- Homemade or store-bought pancakes
- Bacon
- Fruit variety
- Whipped cream
- Chocolate chips (or any other sweets you may like)
- Syrup
To create the pancakes, I used my Dash Mini Waffle Makers.
